Organized by Tom Cochran, Dr. Ruby Dhalla M.P., and Senator Jerry Grafstein, Canada for Asia was a huge success in aiding the victims ofthe tsunami disaster. It was featured on the CBC network, MTV Canada, and several other television and radio stations, featuring a variety of Canada’s actors and musicians.

Rush was one of the main musical acts of the evening, who had pre-performed their song “Closer To The heart” at Metalworks on Tuesday before the televised event. Their performance was accompanied by Bubbles of Trailer Park Boys and Ed Robertson from The Barenaked Ladies. The film crew and equipment was generously donated by Sim Video and studio time for the event which included mastering for Blue Rodeo was donated on behalf of Gil Moore and Metalworks. The session was engineered by Rich Chycki and assisted by Colin Neilson.
