5.1 SURROUND MIXING

Studio 6 was specifically designed and built for 5.1 surround mixing. Our console is an 80 input SSL 9080 J with Ultimation, Total Recall and SL959 5.1 Surround Matrix. A 9' projection cinema screen and Sony video monitors are available for lock to picture and the room is in the process of being Dolby authorized. An M&K 5.1 mid-field surround system is available as well as George Augspurger Custom LCR mains.

We have a wide array of outboard gear available for 5.1 mixing including TC Electronics System 6000 surround processor with Apogee converters and Lexicon 960L digital effects system.
Should you require any last minute overdubs, an opulent 25' X 22' studio floor is adjacent to the control room.

5.1 MASTERING

Metalworks' world-renowned mastering facility was recently converted to 5.1 surround, catapulting the capabilities of the room. Our Mastering Room allows 5.1 surround mixes to be treated in the same pristine-listening environment that has graced hundreds of records over the past 10 years. Our chief mastering engineers are well-versed in both stereo and surround formats, ensuring that your audio meets current standards.

AUDIO ENCODING

In conjunction with our mastering services, Metalworks proudly offers audio encoding in Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS. Our audio staff uses the same approach and discretion that has supported your project from the start, ensuring that the integrity of your audio is maintained right up until completion. As a result of our in-house encoding services, we are also able to create reference DVD's at any point during the project, allowing you to reference your 5.1 mixes outside the studio - a cabability that not all studios can offer.
